Perhaps Andrew Berne didn’t know that he was destined to own a clothing company when he began working in the warehouse of his uncle’s New York City-based textile company in 1977. What was to become a defining year, he learned the business from the ground up, always taking a particular interest in the fashion side of the industry. Andrew rose through the textile ranks working in sales & merchandising and traveling extensively abroad creating and producing textiles for women’s apparel. However something was definitely missing. He felt an inherent need to become a merchant. This propelled him into garment manufacturing & design; producing clothing that people could count on as being fashionable and of high quality. After producing and developing merchandise for a wide variety of branded manufacturers, national department stores and specialty stores for many years he realized that the industry was becoming less customer-centric and more profit-focused. Again, change was on the horizon. By aligning his wealth of experience and knowledge together with pure integrity and a strong vision, Andrew felt the time was right to create a collection and a culture around his dream. Aptly named Dream Culture, the company is dedicated to producing high quality, impeccably designed contemporary women’s apparel, and all with a hidden attention to detail. |
